BUFFALO GROVE, IL, April 1, 2008 -- Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), announced the cancellation of ALL off-list prices for all glutaraldehyde products and grades, effective April 1, 2008, or as contracts allow. It's used for industrial water treatment and as a chemical preservative.
"Globally, glutaraldehyde remains in short supply while growth rates remain at record levels. Costs continue to escalate in this highly regulated industry leading to continued upward cost pressures in the market. These increased pressures make it imperative that the product is at reinvestment levels in order to continue to grow with market demand," said Nanette Hermsen, global marketing manager for Dow Biocides. Glutaraldehyde from Dow Biocides is sold under a number of tradenames including: UCARCIDE™, UCARSAN™, AQUCAR™, GLUTEX™ and as industrial use product named Glutaraldehyde 25% and 50%. Dow also offers the glutaraldehyde products under at least 100 sub-registrations as customer-branded products.
Dow Biocides offers a product for many types of microbial challenges and system requirements. The performance capabilities range from high to low pH performance, quick kill to sustained performance and a range of registrations unparalleled in the industry.
