The charity has already provided over 1.1 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa with clean, safe and accessible water.
The purpose of the Summer Campaign is to get more people acquainted and actively involved with Pump Aid’s work in Malawi, Liberia and Zimbabwe.
This summer PumpAid is encouraging people to ‘like’ Pump Aid’s Facebook page; follow @PumpAid on Twitter; subscribe to Pump Aid’s quarterly e-newsletter; share Pump Aid’s YouTube videos; organise events where people can hear about Pump Aid’s work and participate in Pump Aid’s “Summer T-shirt challenge” on Facebook. This is an opportunity to win one of many prizes, including a weekend away for two with dinner worth £250 courtesy of SpaBreaks.com.
Gwen Vaughan, CEO of Pump Aid, said: “Our staff who deliver the projects in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Liberia are constantly encouraged by the generosity of all those who support Pump Aid all around the world. This provides our staff in Africa with the resources and motivation to give access to clean water and safe sanitation to as many people as possible.”
Pump Aid hopes that the Summer Campaign will raise the profile of the water crisis in Africa, Pump Aid’s work in general, the Schools Projects in Malawi and Liberia in particular and increase its worldwide supporter network.
This summer Water & Wastewater International magazine (WWi), together with PumpAid, will be launching a joint campaign to help promote sustainable and safe access to drinking water in Malawi. For more information, sign up for the June-July issue of WWi which will detail the launch.
