This program was conceptualized by the Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre of the Confederation of Indian Industry and supported by
Grundfos India and will be conducted in various schools across India.
The Gandhi Centenary School, in the Rajaji nagar area of Bangalore, a 40-year-old prominent school was chosen to kick-start this program. It is indeed a wonderful coincidence that the name of the school is the same as the greatest freedom fighters of all time and the most revered national hero, Mahatma Gandhi. The Gandhian way, with its emphasis on peace, harmony and responsibility towards the environment together with our initiative to inculcate the importance of water conservation in the young minds of our country, will definitely inspire thousands of children to act in the better interest of mother earth. The first program targeted children in the age group 4-5 years. Around 360 children actively participated in this program, which ran for an hour. The most enthusiastic children who participated in a simple quiz were given prizes towards the end of the program.
Grundfos-India, based in Chennai, has printed and distributed exclusive Stickers (to be affixed on the toilet/kitchen doors of their respective homes), and labels (to be affixed on notebooks) especially for these programs.
This particular program was co-organized under the aegis of Indian Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air conditioning (ISHRAE, Bangalore chapter).
