FORT WASHINGTON, PA, Sept. 16, 2004 -- Severn Trent Services has reached an agreement in which Pollet Water Group of Koekelare, Belgium, will market the company's SORB 33™ arsenic removal technology into the non-utility, "point-of-use", "point-of-entry" and OEM market throughout Europe.
Pollet Water Group, a supplier of parts and systems for the water treatment industry, will use its extensive company and distributor network to offer the SORB 33 technology.
As an established arsenic removal technology for the UK public water sector, the agreement will allow Severn Trent Services to rapidly make SORB 33 more widely available in Europe. The SORB 33 process was developed to reduce arsenic contamination and is suitable for use across a range of system sizes. When combined with Bayoxide® E33 media, a crystalline granular ferric oxide media with a high capacity for arsenic, the SORB 33 technology has been commercially proven to effectively and economically meet stringent government standards in Europe and the United States. Bayoxide E33 was developed for Severn Trent Services by Bayer AG.
"Selective partnering like this enables us to reach a diverse range of industries and territories quickly," said Mike Ashley, director of United Kingdom/European operations for Severn Trent Services. "By using established and well-connected players such as Pollet Water Group, we intend to accelerate the growth of our business throughout Europe."
