Energy Savings in Water and Wastewater Systems

Water utilities face the challenge of providing water services to their customers while at the same time trying to deliver operational cost savings to their organization. The most controllable operational cost saving for a utility is energy consumption. Pumping for water distribution dominates the operational energy cost of an organization, but savings can be found through improved efficiencies in operating the equipment and intelligent manipulation of the ever-complex energy rates.
