The newest addition to Krausz’s market-leading restraint family of products is the HYMAX GRIP 16”. Successfully used by installers for the past six months, it is the first restraint product of its size with four top-facing bolts and a stab-fit, one-piece design. That helps make repairs safer and faster with installers spending less time in the ditch. Compared to similar products with multiple parts and as many as 12 bolts to tighten, having only four top-facing bolts means no under digging and the stab fit, one-piece design makes it easier to install quickly without losing bolts in the mud.
The wide-range HYMAX GRIP 16” restrains metal and plastic pipes, including HDPE.
The wide-range HYMAX GRIP 16” restrains metal and plastic pipes, including HDPE, and replaces the need to use dedicated products, reducing inventory costs and saving shelf space. As with all HYMAX GRIP products, the patented radial closing mechanism holds pipes tightly in place during installation, allowing full control over the gap between pipes. The GRIP chain offers circular restraint around the pipe, unlike typical wedge-style restraints that point-load the pipe and make it weaker. The HYMAX GRIP can apply a gripping power equal to 60 tons per side with the GRIP chain increasingly tightening to prevent pullout as the pipe applies axial pressure. Unlike similar-sized repair products, the HYMAX GRIP 16” will even work with HDPE pipe, which expands and contracts over time.
The HYMAX GRIP allows dynamic deflection for up to four degrees per side, reducing future pipe cracks and breaks. With the HYMAX GRIP, the pipe joint is effectively transformed into a flexible connection that can help save on continuous repair costs. WW
