The end of the year always brings about a time of reflection.
As part of this, WQP always gauges what the challenges and successes were of the year in its annual State of the Industry. This year, 40 professionals took the survey, and here’s a brief look at what they had to say as they look to 2023. For the full results, visit the WQP website in early January.
One of the questions we asked was what the most important topics will be for the industry in the new year. Most respondents said supply and demand, filtration equipment and new product introductions will be the most important topics in 2023. On top of this, we asked survey takers what will account for the largest portion of their budget in the next 24 months. Out of marketing, travel, customer service, education, employee salaries/benefits, new product offerings, rent (office), rent/lease of vehicles and ‘other,’ the majority of respondents answered that employee salaries and benefits will account for the largest portion of their budget.
Additionally, when asked if they will be expanding their operations in the next 24 months the majority said there are no changes planned, but 30% did say yes. As we look to 2023, it’s clear we can expect an emphasis on workforce development, which is something that is being talked about throughout much of the water industry.
And, looking to 2023, there are exciting changes happening with WQP. In 2023, WQP will shift to a digital only platform. We still plan to bring you the same educational content we always have, but now it will live just on wqpmag.com and its social media pages. Not only does this allow us to bring content to you in a timelier manner, but we can also reach even more of you, too.
We’re looking forward to seeing what strides we can make with this digital shift, and I am eager to get to know more of this industry as well. I’ll be here as your managing editor for WQP, so please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] with questions and ideas.
Have a happy and restful holiday season. We’ll see you in 2023.
