The following statement was shared August 16, 2021, by Mike Mecca, PWQA past president:
Before retiring he consulted for several OEMs. Seems he always engaged in the high-efficiency aspects of our industry, such as sensor-based water softeners, EDI salt-free technology, and water on water ROs.
We learned from the best. Terry was the foremost trainer in whatever he was doing at the time, having attended many of those product events. Along the way, he found time for the politics of our industry. He came on to the board of PWQA and worked through the chairs to become the president for the 2006-2007 term, the year the association celebrated its 50th anniversary. I remember Terry deciding, “We’re going to do this right.” It was his year and wife Judy was coming to it. So, it was formal tuxedos for the guys and long gowns for the ladies at for the banquet. He wanted Judy and the other wives to feel included in the event. Traveling from Arizona, he came to the California legislative events in Sacramento every year to help to keep our message alive and represent the industry.
Terry is survived by wife Judy, children and grandkids. We all saw Terry only a few short weeks ago in Las Vegas at the WQA show marking his 30th convention. He was proud to attend and cap his retirement.
A service will be held in Mesa, Arizona, at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 1:00 pm on September 11. The address is 612 South Ellsworth Road, Mesa AZ. 85208.
Mike Mecca,
PWQA Past President
