Keeping up with current industry trends and information is key to business success. With that in mind, WQP is pleased to bring you its eighth annual State of the Industry Report, which includes valuable information on the water treatment industry and its trends.
The 2014 State of the Industry Survey provides a detailed assessment of the water industry. It studies different market dynamics, including professional and business demographics, budgeting, purchasing involvement and expenditures, industry resources utilized, and importance of industry topics.
One-half of the respondents said they have a primary job function of executive management at their companies. Nearly a quarter (23.6%) have a marketing and sales function, followed by engineering (16.4%) and service (10%).
More than a quarter (28.4%) of respondents said they have been in the industry between 20 and 29 years, with another 32.1% reporting that they have been in the industry for 30 years or more.
Approximately 30% of respondents identified their principal activity as dealer/contractor. Another 24% said they were manufacturers/suppliers, followed by distributors/wholesalers (20%), specifying engineers (14%), plumbing/heating/air conditioning (6.5%) and building owner/developer/manager (5.5%).
