TaKaDu, a software provider for water distribution solutions, announced that it’s Central Event Management (CEM) solution has deployed across the water distribution network of the City of Logan in Queensland, Australia.
The deployment is part of an effort from Logan Water to reduce the city’s water network losses. Logan is one of the fastest growing cities in Australia and is home to more than 327,000 people.
The CEM software can help detect and manage events in the water distribution system. This in turn can help improve customer service, reduce repair times, and reduce energy costs.
Logan Water’s has an ongoing commitment to reducing water loss that has begun with a small water pressure and leakage management program in 2001, following a comprehensive program in 2006 in response to the Millennium Drought. There have been several evolving drivers for the program over the years, from asset management considerations, legislative requirements, economic, customer service and efficiency goals as well as management of the ever-increasing amount of big data.
“Logan Water’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence is clearly evident in their history and culture” says Amir Peleg, TaKaDu’s founder and CEO. “I am confident that our CEM will have a significant impact on Logan Water’s goals, as it has been impacting leading utilities across the globe for over a decade. We are very excited to embark on this journey together with Logan water” he added.
