CLINTON, Conn., April 29, 2002 -- Mark G. Kachur and Carol P. Wallace have been appointed to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Connecticut Water Service, Inc. by Connecticut Water's shareholders at their April 26, 2002 Annual Meeting.
Mark Kachur, age 58, is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of CUNO, Inc., a filter manufacturing company with headquarters in Meriden. He was President and Chief Operating Officer of CUNO and a Senior Vice President of Commercial Intertech from 1994 until 1996 at which time CUNO was spun off publicly from Commercial Intertech. He was President and CEO of Biotage, Inc. from 1992-1994, and prior to that he was with Pall Corporation as group vice president.
Carol Wallace, age 47, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Instrument Corporation, Middlefield, Connecticut, a manufacturer of handheld temperature measurement instruments, since 1994. Previously she held the position as Executive Vice President at Cooper. Prior to joining Cooper, Wallace was with KPMG-Peat Marwick in their manufacturing consulting practice in Detroit, Michigan. She is past Chairman of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association and currently serves on the Board of Liberty Bank and Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce.

Chiaraluce, Connecticut Water Chairman, said, "Carol brings to our Board her executive management experience of running a small manufacturing company as well as her involvement in Connecticut businesses. Mark brings to our Board his broad experience in running a multi-national company in a field related to the water industry.
