WASHINGTON, DC, Oct. 8, 2015 -- Earlier this week, the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) officially announced the organization's new Board of Directors at its annual Water Summit in the city of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Joe Gysel, president of EPCOR Water USA, has been elected president of the NAWC Board of Drectors. Gysel replaces Walter Lynch, president and chief operating officer of regulated operations for American Water. In addition, Martin Kropelnicki, president and CEO of California Water Service Group, has been elected vice president of the Board of Directors.
As president of EPCOR Water USA, Gysel is responsible for water operations in the U.S. EPCOR provides water and wastewater services to approximately 350,000 customers in Arizona and New Mexico. He is also responsible for EPCOR's growing investment and presence in the Southwest. Previously, he has served as senior vice president, new business enterprises with EUI, responsible for water business development across Canada and the U.S. Previous positions with EUI also included senior responsibilities in energy origination and plant development.
Kropelnicki was appointed president and CEO of California Water Service Group in September 2013, after joining the group in 2006 first as chief financial officer and treasurer, and then as president and chief operating officer in 2012. He brings over 25 years of finance and operations, enabling him to offer valuable perspectives on the Group's corporate planning and budgeting along with operational and financial reporting.
NAWC also welcomes the following new members to its 2015-16 Board of Directors:
