August 29, 2002 Lacey, WA - A free software download now makes it possible for users of PIPE-FLO piping system software to show their models to those who don't have the PIPE-FLO program.
Previously, if users of Engineered Software's PIPE-FLO fluid flow software wanted to share their piping system model with someone, both parties needed to have a copy of PIPE-FLO. Now PIPE-FLO Professional 7.1 customers can share their piping system model with anyone, even if they don't have a copy of PIPE-FLO.
With the release of PIPE-FLO 7.1 any user of the program can e-mail their piping system model in the Piping System View (PSV) format. The recipient opens the PSV file using the PIPE-FLO Viewer program by Engineered Software.
They can see the piping schematic with the calculated results of how the piping system operates, review all the project design information, access FLO-Links to electronic documents stored on the Web, and even print out the PIPE-FLO reports. The PIPE-FLO Viewer program can be downloaded free of charge from the Engineered Software Website at www.eng-software.com/psv.
The PIPE-FLO Viewer program is an excellent tool for engineering firms. A piping system's PSV file can be sent to all the members of the design team for review and comments. The recipient can review and print the detailed design information for all pipelines, pumps, controls, and tanks in the piping system. The PSV files can be sent to pump and control valve vendors providing them with the customer's equipment requirements including design point and fluid property information.
Within an operating plant, PSV files can be created for various plant systems and distributed to anyone who needs to know how the system operates. The PSV file provides a piping schematic drawing showing major components and interconnected piping just like a P&ID developed with a CAD program. Unlike a CAD drawing, the PIPE-FLO Viewer displays the calculated flow rates and pressures showing how the system actually operates.
PIPE-FLO Viewer files can also serve as archived design documents providing a design history that cannot be modified.
PIPE-FLO Professional 7.1 is a truly economical method to provide a clear picture of project needs, information, and history.
