ATI's Q46N Free Ammonia Monitor is designed for the continuous measurement of free ammonia, total ammonia and monochloramine in potable water. |
In response to this issue, Analytical Technology Inc. (ATI) developed a system that utilizes a completely new approach to online monitoring of ammonia that is easier to operate and less expensive than competitive systems -- all with the reliability that water utilities need.
ATI's Q46N Free Ammonia Monitor is designed for the continuous measurement of free ammonia, total ammonia and monochloramine in potable water. It is intended for monitoring chloraminated water to minimize the amount of excess ammonia in the system.
The Q46N offers a fast response for real-time ammonia measurement, unlike some ammonia monitors that operate in a "batch" mode. This can require several minutes of wait time after a sample is taken before updating the measurement, and these delays can cause problems in controlling chemical feed. In contrast, ATI's monitor provides continuous, real-time updates for better process control.
The monitor utilizes a simple chemical system with inexpensive reagents. Three separate reagents are required for operation. These can be purchased directly from ATI or easily mixed on-site using readily available chemicals.
ATI provides replacement parts for routine maintenance of the systems. Each system is supplied complete with a monitor, chemistry module, sensor membranes and electrolyte, reagent bottle brackets, reagent pickup tubing assemblies, spare parts kit, and a copy of the manual, which is packed inside the chemistry module when it's shipped.
