National Water & Power hires senior vice president of human resources

National Water & Power (NWP) recently announced the appointment of Randy Gorrell as senior vice president of human resources.

SANTA ANA, Calif., July 16, 2002 -- National Water & Power (NWP) recently announced the appointment of Randy Gorrell as senior vice president of human resources.

Gorrell will be responsible for the company's human capital programs which include: recruitment and selection, organizational development and training, compensation, benefits plan administration, diversity programs and employee communication.

"Gorrell's strong experience will help us attract and retain the best quality employees while maintaining our corporate culture of teamwork and commitment to customer service."

Gorrell brings more than 21 years of human resource and management experience to NWP, as well as an extended background in organizational development. Gorrell joins the organization from Westar Capital, where he served as the managing director and partner in charge of human resources and organizational development. While at Westar, he recruited 17 senior executives, strategically restructured management programs, and played vital roles in both the sale and acquisition of new companies.

Prior to his tenure at Westar, Gorrell was the senior vice president of human resources and administration at USCS International. Gorrell also held key leadership positions in human resources at Ziff- Davis Publishing and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. Gorrell began his career at the Hewlett-Packard Company.
