SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT, July 14, 2014 -- Champlain Water District's (CWD) Peter L. Jacob Water Treatment Facility, located in the city of South Burlington, Vt., recently received the prestigious Phase IV "15-Year Excellence in Water Treatment" Award from the Partnership for Safe Water (PSW) for its superior water treatment process optimization and performance.
The PSW celebrates award-winning utilities for their outstanding commitment to delivering high quality drinking water to customers. Likewise, utilities that subscribe to the Partnershipare dedicated to providing this water to customers, even beyond regulatory requirements. CWD is the first and only utility in North America to date to achieve this highly significant longevity award.
Phase IV represents the highest possible level of performance that can be achieved in the four-phase PSW program and signifies fully optimized facility performance that produces water quality well surpassing required federal standards. CWD has participated in the Partnership for Safe Water program since November 1995 and was the first facility to receive the program's Excellence in Water Treatment Award in 1999.
