MIAMI BEACH, FL, Aug. 4, 2009 -- Meridian Partners, an SAP Services Partner specializing in SAP implementations, upgrades, maintenance/support, Business Information Services and strategic staffing, announced today that the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is implementing SAP's new Public Sector Budget Formulation (PBF) tool.
With the assistance of Meridian Partners, the South Florida Water Management District is the second government agency in North America to implement SAP's new PBF tool. With this application, managers will be able to make informed decisions with real-time insight, automated processes, improved transparency and optimization of scarce resources. The SFWMD has over 1,200 SAP users and 20 modules including MM, PM, PS, HR, FI, CO, AM, ESS, and BI/BW.
"With PBF, we will be able to create a flexible work plan and manage a budget that accurately targets the essential projects and processes needed to protect the competing interests of the environment, residents and commerce in South Florida," states Chief Financial Officer Paul Dumars.
With extensive knowledge and experience in the Public Sector, Meridian Partners was chosen from the four SAP Services Partners certified to implement this tool. Go live is expected to occur in early 2010.
"In today's economic environment of diminishing tax revenues and limited internal resources, this tool is critical for government agencies such as the SFWMD," adds Wilberto Martinez, Managing Partner of Meridian Partners. "We are pleased to be able to help them with this implementation."
The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is a governmental agency responsible for water quality, flood control, water supply and environmental restoration in 16 counties, from Orlando to the Florida Keys.
Meridian Partners specializes in SAP upgrades, implementations, maintenance/support and strategic staffing for public sector and Fortune 1000 organizations.
