SUWANEE, Ga., July 25, 2001 — e^deltacom, the data center solutions division of ITC^DeltaCom, Inc., today announced it has signed an agreement to provide a suite of data center, colocation and managed services to SchlumbergerSema.
As part of the agreement, e^deltacom will provide SchlumbergerSema with data center solutions including colocation and bandwidth, as well as managed services such as network attached backup, customized monitoring, a managed operating system solution, and managed firewall security services. In addition, the agreement includes the provision of various Web-enabled applications such as customer and energy management.
"We have been working with Schlumberger since 1998, providing professional services for network infrastructure design and deployment. As both businesses evolved over the last four years, e^deltacom has assumed responsibility of managing data center services, allowing Schlumberger to focus on its core business functions," said e^deltacom Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Johnson. "We are excited to add a global Fortune 100 company such as Schlumberger to our client roster. This addition exemplifies e^deltacom's expertise in data center and managed services, as well as e^deltacom's long-term commitment to customer satisfaction."
All the services provided to SchlumbergerSema are highly redundant with high availability. SchlumbergerSema will join e^deltacom's Ready Server Program, which provides a Hewlett-Packard server solution offering for companies with immediate needs for application deployment, quick server addition to existing infrastructure or a cost effective need for server acquisition with monitoring and hardware maintenance included.
SchlumbergerSema has developed an application called "MyEnergyInfo." The MyEnergyInfo application is utilized to allow energy conscious consumers to manage, regulate and potentially sell back energy during peak times. With the State of California enduring rolling blackouts, it is anticipated that the application's demand will grow. e^deltacom provides secure, scalable colocation services with proactive communication on all the SchlumbergerSema defined requirements, making it a cost effective solution for its customers and ensuring MyEnergyInfo application uptime.
"Working together over the years, e^deltacom has continued to prove its commitment to a quality of service that we have come to expect," said Susan Hutto, of SchlumbergerSema. "Our business models complement one another and e^deltacom provides us a complete managed platform of services including data center management, bandwidth and security to host our applications and underlying technologies for our customers."
