Registration is now open for the biennial Water for Texas conference in Austin.
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) will host its biennial Water for Texas conference, “Connecting H2Opportunities,” on Jan. 23–25, 2023, in Austin at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center to confront water issues impacting the state.
While water supply and drought are currently at the forefront of most water conversations as more than 90 percent of Texas is experiencing some level of drought, Texas’ water challenges are as diverse as its geography. Collaboration is essential to ensuring a secure water future for Texas. Experts from across the country will convene for general sessions and breakout panels within four tracks:
- Science, Technology, and Data: New Paradigms for Collaboration
- Water Supply and Infrastructure: Investing in Tomorrow
- Business of Water: Turning Challenges into Opportunities
- Flood: Managing Risk and Fostering Resilience
Attendees will hear from two distinguished keynote speakers: Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar and Chet Garner of The Daytripper. Additionally, members of the Texas Legislature will participate in a panel hosted by Evan Smith of the Texas Tribune to discuss key water policy issues of the upcoming legislative session.
Attendees can also earn continuing education credits approved by the Texas Floodplain Management Association, the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, and the State Bar of Texas. More details will be announced this fall.
An early registration rate of $375 for industry attendees and $275 for government/non-profit attendees is available online through Oct. 3, 2022. after which the registration fees will increase. A student rate is also available. Interested readers can register today on the conference website.
