Inframark LLC, a provider in the operations, maintenance and management of water and wastewater facilities, recently announced that it had acquired MR Systems, Inc., an Atlanta-based company that specializes in automation, process controls, instrumentation, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems for the municipal water and wastewater market.
The addition of MR Systems to Inframark’s existing SCADA division will help the company offer an embedded SCADA service throughout its portfolio, primarily consisting of water and wastewater contract operations and municipal utility district operations and maintenance (O&M) clients, in addition to their commercial and industrial customer base.
MR Systems, along with the existing SCADA division, will operate as an autonomous business unit dedicated to serving its existing client base, while leveraging support from Inframark for investment.
According to John Freebody, Inframark’s Chief Financial Officer, “MR Systems has an excellent reputation and will help us create a scaled, affiliated SCADA division to assist Inframark in building standardized, high-tech, and integrated solutions for our clients.”
Tom Hopkins, CEO and co-founder of MR Systems, shared, “The combination with Inframark allows MR Systems to continue our journey as an autonomous business that will be seamless to our longstanding clients and staff, while providing access to a scaled organization with a national footprint that can provide the back-office support and business platforms that we need to provide our mission critical services to much broader customer segments.”
