Universal I/O module

Spectrum Controls has announced the addition of the 1756sc-IF8u Enhanced Universal Analog Input Module to its product line. This module was specifically designed to accommodate Rockwell Automation's Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756 I/O chassis. The module is a solution for mixed I/O applications. The eight channel analog input module accepts current, voltage, resistance, thermocouple and RTD input types. Data is fully linearized and output in user-selectable engineering units.

Coating systems

Sherwin-Williams Industrial and Marine Coatings offers its Centurion™ water-based urethane coating for use in the water and wastewater treatment industries. The polyester urethane enamel is a high-gloss, abrasion resistant urethane with excellent weathering properties. It is ideal for use over prepared substrates and may be applied directly to water-based and solvent-based organic zinc-rich primers. The coating provides performance properties comparable to high-end solvent-based urethanes.

Multi-bag filters

Hayward's Maxiline® multi-bag filter vessels offer flow rates of up to 4500 gpm and filtration down to 1 micron particle size. System operators can chose from standard filter vessels with three bags all the way up to vessels with 24 filter bags. And for extremely high flow applications, fabricated vessels can be constructed with up to 36 bags. The filter vessels are available in a low profile design that reduces operating height to make bag changeout easier. Buna N® seals are standard with Viton® available as an option. Cover design options include davit type, spring assisted and quick opening.

Wastewater products

Chemical feed control

GE Betz' PaceSetter Plus® computerized chemical feed, monitoring and control system can provide precise delivery and management of chemicals in municipal water and wastewater treatment programs. The system uses a self-correcting technology that continuously measures the quantity of chemical fed against the amount required, and automatically makes the necessary adjustments to prevent underfeeding or overfeeding conditions. Each stand-alone PaceSetter Plus controller can independently feed up to four chemicals into different applications.

Access control

Videx announces CyberLock®, an intelligent lock cylinder designed to convert existing mechanical locks into full-functioning access control systems, without hardwiring. The locks permit access for authorized users at specific times on pre-selected days, and provide a comprehensive audit report of all entries. There are no batteries in these cylinders and no wires to install. The locks are operated by a programmable CyberKey. Each time a CyberKey opens a CyberLock, a record of the user ID, date, and time is stored in both the key and the cylinder, creating a lock history and a key history.

Blower package

Kaeser Compressors offers the Omega-paK blower package with an optional sound enclosure. The blower packages are designed for use in aeration and agitation systems. They are available in flows to 4,400 cfm at pressures to 15 psig and vacuums to 15 in. HG. The ventilated sound enclosure has hinged, lockable maintenance doors for access to the pre-piped oil drain, filter contamination indicator, automatic belt tensioning device and inlet filter.

Sludge age controller

The SRTmaster™ sludge retention time control system from Ekster and Associates helps to control foaming and improve settling in conventional activated sludge processes as well as in BNR and BEPR processes. It also improves nutrient removal. Automated SRT control can stabilize loads on a thickening facility and, as a result, improve performance of thickeners and reduce usage of chemicals by as much as 50%. The number of TSS tests can be reduced by 70-80%. The control system includes a PC based SRT controller and two suspended solids meters. Open control architecture allows use of the controller in combination with existing plant-wide control systems or as a stand-alone unit.
