Pall AriaSM water treatment systems are specifically designed to provide treatment for water supply and wastewater reuse, or to meet stringent discharge standards. The systems use hollow fiber membrane filtration modules to remove turbidity, bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium, and iron and manganese from either raw waters or secondary wastewater effluent.
The systems feature modular components, are compatible with chlorine and other common treatment chemicals, have a compact footprint, and operator-friendly controls. The system's high recovery rate results in minimal wastewater discharges.
Typical applications for the Aria system are to filter ground and surface waters for water supply, and secondary wastewater effluent for reuse or discharge. Reuse options include producing water for general industrial use, irrigation, ground water injection, or as pretreatment prior to further treatment with reverse osmosis.
Performance
The Aria water treatment systems are built around the Microza hollow fiber microfiltration membrane. Made of highly crystalline PVDF, the Microza MF module is recognized as having the highest permeability and throughput in the industry.
The microfiltration membrane systems provide clean water that meets Title 22 standards for reuse and that meets or exceeds the EPA standards for safe drinking water. That includes a more than 6 log removal of Giardia and Cryptosporidium and filtered water turbidities less than 0.1 ntu. Aria systems consistently provide recoveries in excess of 95%. Process wastewater includes spent backwash water and chemical cleaning wastes.
System Overview
Aria water treatment systems are production scale, membrane filtration systems that typically come mounted on a skid. The filtration skid is constructed with a painted steel frame, stainless steel or schedule 80 PVC piping, manual and air operated valves, polyethylene tanks, PLC controls and software, 4-20 mA signal instrumentation, and electrical enclosures designed for high humidity and dust conditions. Standard system design pressure is 45 psi and a 150 psi high pressure unit is available.
