Restrained sleeve

The EBAA Iron Series RS3800 Restrained Sleeve is an economical alternative to harnessing unrestrained repair-type couplings. It's versatility permits use on ductile iron, steel and PVC pipe (AWWA C-900 and ASTM 2241) in diameters from 4 inches through 12 inches. Assembly can be made with up to 5 degrees deflection. The restrained sleeve consists of a fusion-bonded epoxy sleeve body and a pair of restraint rings with integral gripping wedges with torque-limiting twist-off nuts to ensure proper actuating of the restraint rings.

Pump shaft reversal detector

The UDS1000 from Electro-Sensors is designed to detect shaft reversal in pumps. Unchecked backpressure can lead to severe pump damage when a pump is started during a reverse rotation condition. The system features a failsafe reversal switch that constantly monitors a pump shaft to assure that it's turning in the correct rotational direction. Relay contacts in the unit can be used to electrically lock out the starting circuit of the pump to prevent accidental start-up during a condition of reverse rotation.

3-beam ultrasonic flowmeter

Krohne has introduced a new generation of 3-beam ultrasonic flowmeters, the UFM 3030. Combined with Digital Signal Processing, the third beam improves accuracy and repeatability of the measurement. Innovative production methods have enabled the company to reduce the price compared to two-beam meters, despite the additional features. Measurement is independent of conductivity, viscosity, temperature, density and pressure. The unobstructed ultrasonic flow sensor, with smooth surface finish, inhibits any material build up. This combined with no moving parts to wear out, provides for maintenance free service. The UFM 3030 can be used for measuring drinking water and wastewater to 5 percent solids.

Respirometer screening

Respirometry Plus offers a simple respiration rate screening test that can be performed by a technician on any unknown influent, and will determine in minutes exactly how that waste will affect the full scale wastewater treatment process. The respirometer used the plant's own mixed liquor for testing and matches full scale plant activity. By using a proprietary formula, the test results will provide a fair basis for fees the plant can charge for treatment based on the amount of energy need to treat the waste. Intelligent locks

CyberLock® technology, offered by Videx, is now available for padlocks. The product is an intelligent lock cylinder designed to convert existing mechanical locks into full-functioning access control systems, without hardwiring. The device grants access for authorized users at specific times on pre-selected days. Most importantly, a record of all entries and denied entries is stored in both the lock and key. The device cannot be picked and the key cannot be duplicated. A key can be set with a date to begin operation, as well as an expiration date.

Magnetic drive pumps

Goulds Pumps has developed a new ANSI magnetic drive process pump. Designated the Model 3296 EZMAG™, the pump eliminates the risks of leakage normally associated with conventionally sealed pumps. The pump features Safeglide™ silicon carbide bearings for dry run protection. Another feature is a seamless, deep-drawn Hastelloy containment shell with integral anti-vortex vane. Pipe locator

The Verifier Digital Locator from McLaughlin Mfg. is a micro-processing pipe and cable locator. The 3-watt transmitter is fully adjustable to power up for longer locates. The infinite adjustment also allows the power to be reduced for congested locates or when working near the transmitter. Multiple coils in the receive provide accurate locates and improved depth calculations. The depth calculation and current measurement index are displayed together on an LCD.

Lift station pumps
