RYE BROOK, NY, Oct. 14, 2014 -- Today, Xylem Inc., a global water technology company aiming to solve challenging water issues, announced the appointment of Kelly McAndrew as vice president (VP) of Global Public Affairs, effective immediately.
McAndrew will report to Senior VP and Chief Communications Officer Angela Buonocore and will oversee global external communications efforts in support of the company's corporate strategy, financial performance and key corporate issues. She is based at the company's global headquarters in Rye Brook, N.Y.
McAndrew most recently served as VP of Corporate Communications at Cablevision Systems Corporation, a telecommunications and media company, where she led the development of corporate communications strategies, oversaw media relations activities for the company's local media properties and directed its charitable activities.
Prior to her role at Cablevision, McAndrew served as senior VP of Corporate Communications at Viacom Inc., a global entertainment company, where she led the development and execution of communications strategies related to the company's corporate, financial and regulatory activities. From 2000 to 2007, she oversaw global public and media relations activities for The Pepsi Bottling Group.
Before her role at Viacom, she held both external communications and public affairs roles for Texaco Inc., where she worked for nearly a decade. She began her career at Hilary Kaye & Associates, a marketing communications firm in Southern California.
McAndrew received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master of Arts degree in communications management from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School for Communication.
